HAMDEN — The WQAQ Sports Department has named Men’s Basketball standout DeMario Anderson as its Athlete of the Week for the week ending on January 24, 2007.

DeMario displayed great leadership, dedication, and a commitment to excellence by leading all Quinnipiac scorers with 21 points. Anderson went 9/11 from the field in 32 minutes of play in the Bobcats 74-72 win over St. Francis (NY). The game was the final Men’s Basketball contest in the 38 year history of Burt Kahn Court. All time at Burt Kahn Court, the Bobcats went 284-184 (.607).

Quinnipiac is next in action Thursday, January 25 for a 7 pm contest against NEC foe Fairleigh Dickinson in Teaneck, New Jersey. Quinnipiac opens up the TD Banknorth Sports Center 2 days later when they host another conference opponent, Long Island University. Game time is set for 12:30 pm from Lender Court.
