WQAQ Sports names Reid Cashman Athlete of the Semester

HAMDEN — WQAQ Sports has named Reid Cashman as its Athlete of the Semester for the spring semester, 2007.

Cashman finalized his Quinnipiac playing career by captaining the Bobcats to the ECACHL Championship Game this season and led all defensemen in the nation with 38 assists and 41 points in ‘06-’07. Cashman also netted 40 points in each of his final 3 seasons, making him only the 16th blue-liner in NCAA Division I history to accomplish the feat.

Cashman graduates as one of the greatest players in Quinnipiac hockey history, and is the program’s all time leader in games played (151) and assists (125). Cashman finishes ranked 7th all-time in points with 148.

Reid was signed as a free agent by the Toronto Maple Leafs and assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies following the Bobcats season. He scored an assist in his first professional game, and played in 6 others.
