(HEBRON, Conn.)-Summer is supposed to be for rest and relaxation, and after last spring hopefully the Quinnipiac Bobcats golf team got that, and is now refreshed for the new season. But hopefully they also got their practice and work in, because they will be put to the test starting this Saturday with their first event of the 2008 fall season.
After a 2007-2008 school year where the team only had four single-digit finishes, this is a team that hopes to get off to a fast, strong start on Saturday at the Trinity College Invitational. They will play in seven fall tournaments between now and October 28th with one sole purpose: play well enough to win.
This team is led by Seniors Jayson Loranger, Ryan Reynolds and Ian O’Connor, Juniors Brady Giroux and Ben Cook, and Sophomores Charlie Niland and Ryerson Stinson. There is only one newcomer to the team, Matthew Dean from Westbrook, Conn. Head Coach John O’Connor will need these guys to step up as they battle powerhouse golf schools during the fall stretch.
The Trinity College Invitational is to be help this Saturday at the Blackledge Golf Course in Hebron, Conn. Tee time is 11:00 a.m.
