(HAMDEN, Conn.)-The Quinnipiac University Golf team continued their fall season last weekend with a 12th place finish out of 15 teams in the MacDonald Cup hosted by Yale University. They had a three-day combined score of 922. The winner of the tournament was Big 12 powerhouse, University of Oklahoma, who had a 54-hole team score of 860. They were followed by Yale, Bryant University, Sacred Heart University and Binghamton University.
Individually, the Bobcats were led once again by Brady Giroux who finished in a tie for 38th amongst 81 players with a combined score of 228. He was followed, one stroke behind, by Charlie Niland. Ryan Reynolds was third for the Bobcats with a three-day total of 234, followed by Jason Loranger with a 235. Next was Ian O’Connor with 238 and Matt Dean, making his first tournament appearance, who had a 257. Jason Thresher from Bryant University won the individual competition with a total of 208, shooting rounds of 71-68-69.
The Bobcats continue their fall play with the ECAC Championships this weekend, October 10-11, at Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead, NY.
