The Quinnipiac University men’s golf team got closer to the end of their fall season with a 19th place finish out of 44 teams at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship this past weekend at The Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass. Senior Captain Ian O’Connor finished ninth in the individual competition, a season highlight for him.
As a team, the Bobcats shot a two-day score of 642. Bryant University won the Championship with a team score of 604. They were followed by Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut.
Individually, O’Connor shot a 71 on day two to follow his first round 79 for a combined score of 150. Rounding it out for the Bobcats was Rookie Chris Connell, who Head Coach John O’Connor sent out there after joining the team just last week for his first event. He went 85-73 for a 36-hole total of 158.
Next up on the fall slate for the Bobcats is the Mount St. Mary’s Invitational at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa.
