Amanda Pugliese is a junior at Quinnipiac University. She is a broadcast journalism major and sports studies minor.
In high school she was a three-sport varsity athlete , putting much of her time into basketball and volleyball. While both are her passion, she declined offers to play in college. Instead she is perusing her dream to become a sports broadcaster.
Her freshman year, she started broadcasting with Quinnipiac’s television station, Q30. Since then, she has expanded her horizons and began work for WQAQ, broadcasting games as well as creating podcasts. She provides color analysis for both the volleyball and basketball games.
In the Fall 2008 semester, Amanda was awarded the Color Analyst of the Semester for WQAQ, and was given the privilege of following the women’s basketball team and creating podcasts after every game as well. These podcasts can be found on iTunes as well as on the QU Athletics multimedia page, near the broadcast archives.
Amanda lives in Port Washington, N.Y., with her parents Joe and Theresa, sister Jacqueline and brother Domenick.
