WQAQ Broadcaster: Andrew Gau

Andrew Gau

Andrew is a senior broadcast journalism major with a minor in sociology at Quinnipiac.

He is a die-hard supporter of Cincinnati sports, following the Reds and Bengals religiously. Andrew is also a die-hard New York Knicks and New York Islanders fan.

Andrew is currently interning with the Islander’s farm team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Andrew is a media intern, working in the press box, locker room and media gate. Andrew also compiles highlights after every game to post on the teams Web site. For the past five summers, Andrew has been the director of the public pool at Longshore club park in his hometown of Westport, Conn. His leadership skills have earned him the rightful position for some time.

A graduate of Staples High School in 2006, Andrew played four years of varsity rugby and wrestling earning his varsity letter in his freshman year of both sports. Andrew also wore the captain stripe in both sports as a senior. Currently, Andrew still plays rugby for Quinnipiac’s unofficial rugby  team, New Blue Rugby.

At Quinnipiac, Andrew hosts a radio show which airs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday nights, called “Agree to Disagree.” In high school, Andrew hosted a radio show as well.

Andrew currently resides in Westport, Conn., with his mother Pam, his father Joe, his brother Robert, and his sister Kathryn.
