Athlete of the Week – Quinnipiac’s Women’s Ice Hockey Team

This week’s WQAQ Athlete of the Week award goes to the Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey team. The Bobcats have received votes in the weekly USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey polls for the first time in the program’s history. Quinnipiac swept the No. 10-ranked Syracuse University Orange over this past weekend after completing a conference sweep by defeating Dartmouth and No. 3 Harvard at the TD Bank Sports Center. This weekend, the team extended their program-record winning streak to six games with a sweep of Wayne State. By picking up their 12th victory of the season on Friday, the Bobcats have broken the program’s record for most wins in a season, when they went 11-21-2 during the 2003-2004 campaign. This season the Bobcats are 13-7-6, and will head back into ECAC play this weekend.
