WQAQ Athlete of the Week: Kevin Nunes

This week’s WQAQ Athlete of the Week is Kevin Nunes (Hillsborough, N.J.), a senior Midfielder for the Quinnipiac soccer team. Nunes led the Bobcats to a 2-1 victory over the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday, September 26^th, with his first multi point game of his career, keeping Quinnipiac (3-0-4) undefeated on the season.

Nunes assisted on the Bobcats’ first goal, in the 56^th minute, with a quick centering pass through two defenders to junior Nick Pelicaen. Nunes followed the assist with the first goal of his collegiate career, a shot into the lower left corner of the net in the 60^th minute.  The marker proved to be the game winning goal in the contest.

The Bobcats look to stay undefeated when they play an afternoon home game against Robert Morris on Friday October 2^nd in Hamden.

Men’s Soccer Hosts Stony Brook at 4 PM

Quinnipiac’s men’s soccer team will look to continue their undefeated start this afternoon when they host Stony Brook at 4 PM at Bobcat Field in Hamden. Miles McQuiggan and Andrew Gau will provide the call live on the Soccer Sports Stream, with the broadcast starting at approximately 3:55 PM.
